Traveling rarely makes it easier to get training in – but no one said it would be easy. Really enjoyed going to the game but it does make it difficult to get back into the routine. After 6 hours in the car, went to work for a few hours then got my training in.
On a side note, my food has not been as tight as i would like it – that doesn’t mean I have been making poor nutritional choices – though I did crush a bag of kettle corn like it was my job at the game on Saturday – I have just missing some meal timings, and macros have been a bit off – I am looking forward to getting back to routine. As my friend David Johnson said the other day – “the one thing I see among all physique competitors is the ability to remain consistently consistent” – He’s right – its not about having a bad day today and over reacting by cutting calories and over training tomorrow – its about getting right back to the routine – reaching the point where the routine, training, meal prep, etc becomes a comfort and feels good is a huge step in process – this is what coaches mean when they say “enjoy the process” – The show is just the culmination of your consistent prep – a chance to showcase your hard work – The goal should be to bring the best shape you can by remaining as consistent as possible in your prep and enjoying the journey.
